CURSED FOR MANNERS "Nuvo Magazine (FEB 2008) said the band was "combining just a little bit of the angsty alternative feel of the Cure with a whole lot of screamin’, making for a distinctly Tool-like sound with all kinds of mad rhythms layered over it ." The magazine also noted that “Any gang that can do this and still be esoteric enough to riff the Aztec prediction of Armageddon in 2012 is A+, No. 1"

Ironsides

"Just like every other band, we wanna make it. We just wanna make it doing what we love
to do. Never expect the "cliche" from us as we want to be trend starters rather than trend followers." The group has shared the stage with groups ranging from small local Christian bands to big-label acts. Ironsides has played across the Midwest with the likes of Sleeping With Sirens, Of Mice And Men, We Came As Romans, Oh Sleeper, The Chariot, and plenty of local Indianapolis heroes. They were even voted on to Haste The Day’s last 12 Days of Christmas tour following a vote of Indy-area music fans. Most recently, Ironsides was hand picked by Warped Tour creator Kevin Lyman to play the Cleveland stop in the summer of 2011.

The first cd from this young band, "..And Then The Hearts Suffered EP" is loved by many and "Every track is composed and arranged as if it was written by artists with several decades worth of experience under thier belts" says a reviewer of a local magazine. Coping Method

As soon as these guys start playing all I can think about is throwing the devil horns up and letting the music take control. Hard rock music doesn’t even begin to describe what these guys bring to the stage. They have sick guitars matched with intense drums and polished lyrics all coming together to produce a sound that belongs on stage with bands like Breaking Benjamin or Disturbed. They even hint around with some screaming here and there; and it works. Some of their tunes start off slow, almost sounding acoustic, until you get a few measures into the song when the electric guitar takes over and the band just kills it. You can tell the lyrics were written from past experience and that they come from nowhere short of the heart. I have no idea where I met these guys, but I am glad that I have had the chance to listen to their tunes and work with them here on the blog. It is my pleasure to introduce you to Coping Method.

BORROW TOMORROW The paths that led to Borrow Tomorrow have crossed many times, a derivative of days and bands past, but with a newly-found, steadfast drive to make great music that means something not only to those who create it, but to those who hear it. Naturally, we've got our influences and our inspiration (see: life, you). Little of this matters, however, when the four of us are on stage with the lights turned low, the people in the crowd anxiously awaiting four clicks, and we are off and running.

Indianapolis is home, which for now, doubles as a starting block for these Midwestern boys as they seek to discover just what, in fact, home really is. We are true to ourselves, to the words we write, and to the sounds we make, for music is our lives. Without it, there would be no joy, no heartache, no passion, and no us.

FREEDOM "Erik Kipp is one of the most gifted songwriters I've ever met. He has this knack for writing songs that, after I hear them just once, are in my head for days."

"The album flows stupendously well and is easy for listeners to turn it on, zone out and get into it.
It’s difficult to find a debut album these days that mixes outstanding front vocals with superb backing vocals, smooth and flowing instrumentals with lyrics that jump out of the speakers and cut straight to the heart," Reggie Edwards, The Front Row Report

THE POST SCRIPT

BELLFIELD Knoxville natives Bellfield are creating a unique breed of energetic alternative rock music. They have entertained college and bar room crowds in the area and across the southeast for nearly three years, but only now have evolved into the suspiciously-alluring riff-driven power-funk (or something similar) that one can expect to hear at their upcoming appearance at the Bijou Theatre on September 26th. Bellfield recently captured the attention of award-winning producer Jeff Powell, whose credits include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Dylan, BB King, The Allman Brothers Band, and Tonic. He will be recording and producing the band's first live album (being taped September 26th and aptly titled "Live at the Bijou"). Few bands have the prowess and tenacity to survive the gauntlet of the music industry, but Bellfield may be one of the few.

UNLIKELY ALIBI Combining the sounds of The Clash, Elvis Costello and The Police, with a hint of Bad Brains, Unlikely Alibi simply gives you organ and guitar driven power pop with a twist of reggae and ska. Piecing together parts of Midwest’s hardest working, most popular, and most influential bands, the members have collectively sold thousands of CDs, and played hundreds of shows throughout the United States; including opening spots for Ben Folds, The Foo Fighters, Eve 6 and Train, to name a few.

The band’s debut album “At the Ready”, released by Stubborn Records, has quickly gained attention, acclaim and airplay. Unlikely Alibi is currently touring in support of the new album, and continues to ignite audiences wherever they go.

1220 Knoxville based rock band '1220' brings echos of seventies style rock, but with a good dose of their own swaggering style. Their lean, mean songwriting recalls early Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, and even Thin Lizzy, and their twin guitar leads and soaring vocals turn heads at every show. 1220 has been touring regionally to promote their latest full-length effort, "Killing For A Living," and there has never been a better time than now to go to a show and see what all the buzz is about.

Blue Spark

Driving guitars, bass, and skull pounding drums meet with strong female vocals to produce an unforgettable rock and roll sound. That’s the sound of Blue Spark. Blue Spark creates a combustible blend of music with influences ranging from hard rock, punk rock, and 90s alternative; creating an original sound the indie scene has been missing for a while.
Blue Spark is working on blowing up the local music scene with live shows, but the creative writing process and chemistry between band members is something most bands would kill for.

Blue Spark has been featured on the soundtrack for the multi-award winning short film, ‘Turning Japanese’, just wrapped up production on their debut music video for ‘Punk Cowboy’, and are currently working on their debut album, ‘Bankrupt Summer’.

Bleeding Keys

A patchwork of influences gives their music a fresh, eclectic feel that is difficult to categorize but easy to experience. The band possesses a rare combination of infectious energy, passion and lyrical substance that keeps the crowd engaged and solidifies their title not only as polished musicians but also as entertainers.
